You will be responsible for maintaining innovative and sound industrial control system software, read and create production wiring schematics, and possibly design electrical controls and hardware. Also drafting brick designs as needed for our customers.  The ideal candidate will possess a methodical attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt and grow in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join collaborative team using innovative robotics in manufacturing for the US steel market.  Other responsibilities may be required by management, such as working with maintenance and production in various roles.

Manufacturing QA/QC Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

As a Quality Control & Assurance Laboratory Technician for PRCO America, you must have a strong passion and drive to develop the people around you to perform at their peak potential. You must be loyal, conscientious and possess a strong desire to succeed and constantly improve. You will be responsible for your department’s safety, quality, productivity, organization and cleanliness. You will help maintain budgeting for labor efficiencies in your department. You will be the champion for continuous improvement in the department. You will need to plan, coordinate, and direct the quality control program designed to ensured continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties:

  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate objectives with production to ensure safety, maximize quality and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain department budgets.
  • Analyze data to investigate internal/external issues related to quality and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical testing and analyze test data to determine if designs, components and processes meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Promote ISO 9001 compliance by creating/updating procedures, ensuring adherence to procedures, publishing trend charts and metrics, assisting in audits, and maintaining records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Lab testing and equipment that you should be familiar with:

  • X-ray diffraction
  • density and porosity of ceramic testing equipment
  • Infrared carbon Sulphur analyzer
  • Viscometer
  • Moisture content
  • Compressive strength
  • Particle size distribution

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and prior supervisory experience in a similar position is preferred. Proficiencies with Microsoft Office applications is required.
