You will be responsible for maintaining innovative and sound industrial control system software, read and create production wiring schematics, and possibly design electrical controls and hardware. Also drafting brick designs as needed for our customers.  The ideal candidate will possess a methodical attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt and grow in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join collaborative team using innovative robotics in manufacturing for the US steel market.  Other responsibilities may be required by management, such as working with maintenance and production in various roles.

CAD / Robotics Technician Responsibilities

  • Support and improve existing PLC, HMI and robot programs
  • Troubleshoot and implement creative solutions for hardware and software issues
  • Provide guidance for sourcing and budgeting of materials
  • Maintain scheduling and deliver project status updates
  • Must have experience with CAD drawing systems such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office products.
  • Use critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths & weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job, and all projects.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution towards solving problems.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize projects, by developing specific goals to accomplish the work.
  • Organize time management on projects, and set realistic working goals
  • Explain drawings to production or construction teams and interact with engineering personnel.
  • Willing to be on call to keep the facility running.

CAD / Robotics Technician Qualifications

  • Strong manufacturing safety background
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (Associates, or equivalent experience will be considered)
  • Controls and automation experience preferred
  • PLC and HMI programming experience preferred
  • AutoCAD proficiency preferred
  • 6-Axis Robotics experience a plus
  • Control Panel wiring experience a plus
